If you're looking for one of the best motorcycle routes in Mallorca, the ride from Palma to Sant Salvador Sanctuary undoubtedly deserves a place at the top of your list.
This route brings together everything that makes Mallorca one of Europe's favourite destinations for motorcyclists: perfectly paved scenic roads, peaceful country lanes, breathtaking viewpoints, authentic Mallorcan villages and a destination rich in history.
Whether you're riding a Ducati Scrambler, Monster, Multistrada, DesertX or a KTM, this route offers the perfect balance between riding pleasure and unforgettable scenery.
Leaving Palma: the journey begins
After leaving Palma, head southeast towards Algaida, then continue through Porreres until you reach Felanitx.
After just a few kilometres, the city traffic gives way to the peaceful Mallorcan countryside, surrounded by vineyards, almond groves and traditional fincas. The pace immediately changes, making the ride more relaxed and enjoyable.
This first section is ideal for getting comfortable with your motorcycle while enjoying the beautiful inland landscapes before tackling the most exciting climb of the entire route.
Felanitx: the gateway to Sant Salvador
Felanitx is one of the most authentic towns in the heart of Mallorca.
It's well worth stopping for a coffee in the historic centre before beginning the final ascent to the sanctuary.
The road leading to Sant Salvador is one that every motorcyclist remembers with a smile.
The climb to the Sanctuary
The final five kilometres are simply spectacular.
A series of perfectly surfaced bends climbs to over 500 metres above sea level, offering excellent grip and breathtaking panoramic views around every corner.
The road is wide enough for a smooth and enjoyable ride while remaining technical enough to provide plenty of excitement, especially on a Ducati or KTM.
During the climb, always maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, particularly on the tighter sections. This improves visibility through each corner, allows for a more relaxed and safer ride, and leaves enough space for cyclists, who frequently use this road.
As you gain altitude, the landscape gradually opens up across Mallorca's entire southeastern coastline.
On clear days, you'll be rewarded with views of Cabrera National Park, the coastline stretching towards Cala d'Or and much of the island's central plain.
Without a doubt, this is one of the most scenic motorcycle roads in Mallorca.
Sant Salvador Sanctuary
Built in the 14th century on the summit of Puig de Sant Salvador, the sanctuary has welcomed pilgrims for centuries.
Today, it is one of Mallorca's most spectacular viewpoints.
Before visiting the sanctuary, we recommend walking up to the panoramic terrace located to the left of the entrance. From here, you'll enjoy breathtaking 360° views stretching across much of the island and, on clear days, all the way to the Cabrera Archipelago.
To the right of the entrance area, you'll find a drinking water fountain, perfect for refreshing yourself before continuing your ride.
After parking your motorcycle, take a few minutes to explore the sanctuary complex on foot.
The impressive stone cross, the Christ the King monument and the stunning panoramic views make this one of the most memorable stops in Mallorca.
Inside the church, don't miss the traditional nativity scene. This is a long-standing Mallorcan tradition, and many churches display their nativity scenes throughout much of the year, not only during the Christmas season.
To round off your stop, there's a panoramic bar and restaurant right next to the sanctuary, making it the perfect place to enjoy a drink or lunch before getting back on your motorcycle.

Want to extend your tour?
If you have more time available, you can turn this ride into a full-day adventure by visiting two more beautiful monasteries in the heart of Mallorca.
Cura Monastery, located on Puig de Randa, offers another spectacular scenic road packed with enjoyable curves.
Sanctuary of Monti Sion is one of the island's quietest and most scenic viewpoints, offering a completely different atmosphere.
Together, these destinations allow you to spend an unforgettable day riding some of the finest roads in Mallorca's interior.
Take a break and enjoy the flavours of Mallorca
Along the route, it's well worth stopping at one of the area's traditional bars or restaurants to sample two of Mallorca's best-known local dishes.
Pa amb Oli, made with rustic country bread, fresh tomato, extra virgin olive oil and served with local cheeses or cured meats, is the perfect meal for a motorcyclist: simple, authentic and usually prepared quickly.
If you'd rather sample a variety of local specialities on a single plate, order a Variat Mallorquí, a selection of traditional Mallorcan tapas that lets you discover some of the island's most authentic flavours.
